The Cobra’s of John McKenna and John Goodman started side-by-side at the head of the GTO Class and after an action packed 30 minutes finished for GTO Class honors in that order. 2011 Wednesday February 2: HMSA Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion And SOVREN Pacific Northwest Historics Salute USRRC In 2011. The August 2011 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca has created a USRRC Sports Racing car grid for cars through 1968. The entire USRRC pro road racing series from 1963-1968 always included Over and Under Two Liter Sports Racing Cars. The first years 1963 through 1965 also included GT/Production Sports Cars. This is exciting news for eligible Sports Racing cars. This is a great development since Laguna Seca hosted an annual USRRC race each year of the series 1963-1968.

The SOVREN Pacific Northwest Historics at Pacific Raceways will again host a USRRC Seniors Tour Feature organized by Victory Lane Motorsports Marketing as one of its “America’s Racing Heritage Series”. This will feature both Sports Racing Cars and GT/Production cars of 1963-1965 just like the first years of the original USRRC. This has long been a popular annual Sunday Feature on an original USRRC Road Racing circuit. The USRRC Seniors Tour Features have been held at legendary road racing circuits across North America since the early 1990s these have been held at tracks including: Watkins Glen, Road America, Laguna Seca and Pacific Raceway.

Past news:

The annual weekend of vintage racing on the July 4th holiday weekend always brings out the best of the Northwest vintage racers. The event always makes a very large donation to the local children's hospital. This year the Pacific Raceways paddock was filled with nearly 300 vintage racers. Porsche was the honored marque. Al Unser Sr. was the guest celebrity and the Sunday first feature was the USRRC Seniors Tour saluting SCCA's first pro road racing series which began in 1963. It was both a drivers championship in two classes, over and under two liter sports racing cars. There was also a manufacturers championship for GT and production sports cars Accordingly the USRRC Seniors Tour has four classes: SRO, SRU, GTO, GTU.

The USRRC Seniors Tour salutes SCCA's first pro series for Sports Racing Cars as it was originated from 1963-1965. This series included both GT/Production Sports Cars and Sports Racing Cars. After 1965 thru 1968, the series was a Sports Racing Car only series.

The USRRC Seniors Tour is a vintage racing series. The USRRC Seniors Tour 30 minute Sunday features are held at vintage racing weekends across North America every year. Eligible cars include pre-1966 Sports Racing and GT/Production Sports Cars. Both groups are divided into under and over two liter classes. A registry of original USRRC cars and vintage racing eligible cars is maintained. The features are part of the "America's Racing Heritage™" program organized by Victory Lane Motorsport Marketing.
